Getting the Right Mindset For Successful Linking
It is understood that all it takes are one-way links from authority websites, such as websites with high PRs, and high-profile organizations for your link-building effort to be successful, but does your website does have what it takes to get them to link to you?
1. Know who you are competing with
In any case, the potential quality links will mostly come from people will similar niche as you do, usually other similar AdSense websites. Forums, information-teeming websites - you name it, you have it.
To position yourself above your competitors competing for the same market share, you must prove to your visitors your expertise in that niche above all others, and to do that you must devour information: you must know the best news sites, the most popular newsletters, the busiest forums and the most popular blogs. Subscribe to free newsletter as these will deliver news to your desktop rather than you having to go and search for it - used well they can be a huge timesaver. With the information, create additional information and update your website so that returning visitors will not get bored. Ultimately, when you have high traffic, it means higher AdSense revenue.
2. Understanding the language
Understand that keywords are the fundamental words that people use to search the information they require. Therefore, the key to successful linking is by having keyword rich links pointing to your website. Achieving keyword-rich links from other websites can be easy. First, it can be done with directory submission. Next, it can be through link requests from other websites. However, there are other ways to get keyword rich backlinks. Remember when people search, they often input keywords and when other sites look for sites to link to, they first do a search on the keywords to determine their niche. Especially so for an AdSense website whose survival depends very much clicks and traffic, start each article or page with a keyword that you want other websites with similar niches to link you with. Although your AdSense competitors may not, there are many thousands more websites out there with the similar niche. Position yourself well among them by enabling their search easier, and they will reward you for doing so.
3. Be careful of information that claim something too good to be true
In the web, there are abundance of websites claiming to get you inbound links quickly. Be careful! Usually they involve in some search engine spam. Doing so may result in Google banning your website (Sandbox) and getting it out of it can be tough. Rather invest your time in effective link building. Remember there is no overnight success in link building. All it takes is time, patience and good content to get other websites to agree to link to you.
4. Link selectively to quality sites
Contrary to what most believe, giving quality outbound links can e one of the best ways to position yourself among your other competitors. Whether you are trying to attract people to your AdSense website or trying to sell something, provide quality outbound links. As mentioned in the previous articles, visitors will appreciate the effort to provide them with the information they require and they will be more than willing to bookmark your website and pay a future visit. However remember to link to quality sites that provide unique content instead of those with rehashed, commonly found information. This unique network of websites will position well above the others.
And of course, the webmaster of that site that you have linked to will be glad that you have linked to them and more than willing to provide a reciprocal link. Remember that, like all webmasters, you are all desperate to build quality backlinks.
5. Watch out for good content
In your daily websurfing experience, try to look out for unique pieces of content. Visit your AdSense competitors websites and read their articles. Then if you come across any unique information, create your new article based on the information you have found and make it better with your own, unique input.
6. Make your website known
You may have the best AdSense information website around. Unique contents, great outbound links, but if people do not know about it and search engines have not given it enough 'respect' to position it high enough for traffic, then all the effort to create new, unique content would have gone down the drain. Post messages in forums, blog comments, et cetera for extra publicity. Get feedback from other frequent blog visitors from other similar sites and forums. If its good content, most probably they will be coming back for more, as they have for the blog. If its bad, then you have the signal to improve them.
7. Constantly monitor your results
Bear in mind that the number of links pointing to your website is NOT a good indication of the success of your linking effort, but the number of links coming from quality websites. Frequently do a link search of your website domain on Yahoo explorer and Google. Check for the appearance of your website on blogs, sites you have already linked to and new sites that have linked to you then decide on your next appropriate course of action.
8. Be relentless and determined
One of the quote that I like a lot, as on the main page of the website.
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is, therefore,
not an act, but a habit."
Aristotle
Success from your effort may not come overnight. If you are starting your firsr AdSense website, most probably you will get discouraged easily and give up. However, please do not. The same goes for linking. These are hardly often overnight success, but due to meticulous, patient and effective link building. Constantly build quality links. If you have unique content, rest assured that you will witness increase in traffic to your website.
