Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills. With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. What has been taking the Internet marketing world by storm? Answer: Bum Marketing! The Bum Marketing Method, a creation of Travis Sago, is the killer strategy of writing search engine optimized articles to promote affiliate programs. Needless to say, the popularity of this method has caught on and thousands are making their first affiliate commission online using the Bum Marketing Method.

If youre looking to get started in Bum Marketing, here are 5 quick tips I personally follow, that you can use to start making instant cash on the Internet :

1. Focus on not just one niche, but many niches!

In Bum Marketing, less is not more. Once youve made some cash in a niche, look to duplicate your success in other niches. Keep adding niches to your Bum Marketing portfolio and your income will soar.

2. Write as many articles as you can

Find whatever free time you have in your day to write articles, even if its on a train or even if youre in the toilet doing your business! Hey, you want to make real money online, right?

3. Promote residual income programs

Why make just one sale, when you can make more cash by promoting a residual income affiliate program? Lets say you promote a membership site, and the customer you refer stays for years to come. Youll be paid affiliate commissions on this one referral for the entire time the customer stays with the service! There's no other option.

4. Outsource your work

If youre dropping yourself dead tired to bed everyday from writing articles, then its time to outsource some of that dirty work! Look to sites like Elance.com to hire a freelancer to write up some articles for you whenever you feel lazy. When your income is going up, this is a real quality option to take.

5. Get the product

Contact your affiliate programs owner to see if you can get a copy of the product. This way, you can write quality reviews on the product to promote it. Some affiliate program owners wont mind giving you a copy if youve proven yourself a super affiliate, others wont mind sending it over at all! They know its to their benefit in the long run.

Okay, it's no secret that article marketing is one of the best way to get thousands of dollars in free advertising for your internet business. It's also know that article marketing is becoming more and more popular amongst internet marketers which means that the competition is at an all time high.

So how in the world can a newbie to article marketing get in on some the action and actually benefit from writing and submitting articles as a way of getting free traffic and advertising?

Well, here is the best article marketing tip ever given and if you use it, you are guaranteed to explode your traffic, sales, and efforts. The tip is this: Use each and every article that you write and submit as way to build your opt in list.

That's it. The best article marketing tip you will ever get. If you use your articles as a way to collect the name and email address of a percentage of the readers, you will be in control of your own financial future.

There are many other article marketers that would argue this tip, especially those who are using bum marketing to bring in sales for affiliate products. You know what bum marketing is don't you? That's where you write and submit a batch of articles centered around a particular product.

Then at the end of the article, you send them readers to the product web site. If they buy, you make money if they don't, you lose. This is where many people in my opinion are making the biggest mistake ever.

Why spend your time and energy on the hope of the one time sale when you drive that same reader to your simple opt in squeeze page, offer them a great free ebook or report, get their name and email address, then follow up with them forever.

If you use article marketing to build your build a large responsive opt in list, you will profit from it for as long as you want. Give it a try and see the results for yourself.

Making Money with Your Blog!

All webmasters know that one-way links of superior quality which are related to one's website is very important. One-way links lead to a rise in Google Page Rank as well as traffic to the target site. One promising method of developing related one-way links is by writing articles and then submitting them to directories. Usually, individuals writing useful, informative articles are chosen by other web managers for working on their sites. Due to this, you are offered with many inbound links along with high traffic flow. These one-way links acquired by you will apply to other relevant sites since webmasters use only those articles which are closely associated to the subjects displayed on their sites.

There are a few standard principles that people who want to use internet marketing successfully need to remember.

Top Quality Writing:

If you are a writer interested in marketing your pieces to webmasters the key is to make the article interesting. Webmasters are always looking for great articles that will catch and hold the interest of their website visitors. The article, of course, needs to contain useful information, but it also has to be interesting to keep and hold the readers attention to the end of the article. Any website that selects your article for publishing should see an increase in the value of their site. Writing these great articles will help them be included on websites and the readers may enjoy reading them so much that they go to your website to find more things to read.

Author Credit Area:

This is typically placed at the very end of the article submitted. While the majority of article directories permit as many as three links at this location, you have to verify this with each article directory and read their article submission requirements to ensure this. Be sure to use as many links as are allowed, and don't forget to link to both internal and home pages. In the event that three links are permitted, consider linking first to the home page of your site, then to an internal page at the same site, and finally to a fully written out URL. Webmasters occasionally just copy and paste a desired article onto their website and completely omit hyperlinks. If one of your links is the site URL, you will eliminate the potential disadvantage this can cause you. If you choose to submit the article to more than one directory, provide some variations in both the anchors and the hyperlinks in your resource information.

Getting Inspired and Researching a Good Article:

Since the essentials of article marketing, or article submission for the purpose of web promotion, are now clear, the next step is to begin writing. From where do you find writing ideas for these articles? Begin by using ideas found at your own site. Consider the theme, or main idea, of the site. This will determine your writing topic. Remember, too, that you want the people who read these articles to develop an interest in the item being promoted at your website. Your goal is to write articles that will attract and keep readers interested during their visit to your site.

Article Research:

Information and data should normally be gathered before writing the article. An excellent source of information is the public domain where many websites offer copyright-free information. Several websites also sell "Private Label Rights" (PLR) articles that are well researched and solidly written. However, it is recommended that the content from these sources not be merely copied and pasted.

You can find a large number of potential information sources for your articles by doing keyword searches on search engines. Always use your own thoughts, ideas, and wording for your articles. Be mindful of copyright laws when marketing your articles.

Viral marketing is a methods of list building

There are multiple methods of list building, and if you are just getting started, until you have gained mastery over one or two methods, it is advisable to use multiple methods of list building strategies. You’ll see every step of the process, no matter how small, in exacting detail so

If you are doing any marketing on the Net you will always need new content. The content that gets the most read is unique, offers valuable information and contains

no obvious spelling or gramatical errors. If it fails to meet the above criteria it won't stand out from the thousands of articles being written and submitted every day.

7 steps to writing multiple articles quickly

1. Keyword research

Go to Wordtracker and enter the main keyword or keyword phrase you want to write about. The free wordtracker tool will list 100 new phrases. The number beside these phrases represent how many people entered these phrases in the search engines over a one month period. Copy and paste these phrases into an Excel speadsheet to refer to it at any time when you need to write another article on the same subject.

2. Create an headline

From your keyword phrase, create an attractive headline. If you can't create an attractive headline, don't worry. You can always create it later based on the content of your article. You'll probably change the headline several times while writing its content. The headline should capture the essence of the article topic so readers will know what to expect.

3. Create sub-topics

Write the first line for each of 5 paragraphs if you want to write a 500 word article. Each paragraph should contain approximately 500 words. The sub-topics expand from the main topics ie if your main topic is about camping your sub-topics may be:

What is camping?

What are the benefits of camping?

What types of camping are there?

Where are the best places to go camping?

What items do you need to take?

4. Expand upon each sub-topic

Flush out each sub-topic by including more points about it then expand upon them in the next few sentences. Very soon you will have 100 words per paragraph. If you need to write a 1000 word article just create more subtopics.

5. Create a resource box

Here is where you are allowed to market yourself and your products. Include your full name, web site address, your offer and a call to action.

Read How to Create a Highly Effective Resource Box

6. Check for grammar and spelling errors

Don't rely on the MS Word spell check. It doesn't correct all your spelling errors. Let your article sit for a few hours or a day then read it again. Often you find better ways to say something and correct obivous mistakes when you let your article stew for a while. Get someone else to read it since they will be more objective.

7. Rinse and repeat

Repeat the above steps for each new article. Create several new articles simultaneously by creating outlines for each of the keyword phrases. A sub-topic can easily be expanded into an article if you have lots of information to share.

Tip

Keep a notebook or tape recorder handy for new article ideas that pop into your head while walking, or driving somewhere. This will prevent you from getting writer's block..where you just stare at your monitor and nothing comes to mind. It will help you produce more content at a faster rate in less time.

The whole point of article marketing is to establish yourself as an expert in your market niche as you want the reader to visit your web page. That is a given.

So, you work hard to write article, but if your resource box is poorly written. You will have a very very low click through rate. But that is no big deal because I am going to show you how to create an awesome resource box that will skyrocket your click through.

So the first thing you want to do is understand your market in niche. What is the underlying psychology that will drive the reader to visit your web page?

Let's take the dating niche for example. In your resource box you do not want to say "visit my webpage for more dating tips" because that is too general. But rather if you want to make it more specific and beneficial to the reader. Such as "I am a dating coach and I would like to invite you to my website where you can get a free five day mini-course on how to approach women"

That the more detailed and more benefit your resource box, the higher your click through rate. Sounds good in theory but in reality. You have to constantly track how good your click through rate is by installing a stat code into your web page (such as Google analytic)

Another tip is to write a short three to five page report in .PDF format and offer to give it away free to your readers in order to entice them to visit your webpage. This works very well because if the reader's interest in your article. He will naturally, visit your webpage, because of the awesome report.

So in order to have article marketing success you have to have a killer resource box that has a high click through rate, Otherwise you're a whole article marketing attempt this is just going to be one big flop.

Three Things You Must Do Before You Submit To Article Directories

Good overall optimization, the right keyword phrases and quality content play the key roles in the success of any web design project. Link Popularity and Google PageRank are almost secondary for the overall success of a website.

Here is an example. I recently took advantage of a free service offered by a competing SEO firm. It was for a Free Keyword Analysis. Sounds like a great deal, we charge $129 for the service and its almost a give-away. I wanted to see what they were offering for free so I inserted the URL of one of our clients, fkpfishing.net in the form, added my personal e-mail address and hit enter.

When I received the e-mail results a couple days later (quick by any standard) I was told that the site's link popularity is very low and that it is not optimized for the keyword float tube as well as it should be. They also informed me that the site's Google PageRank is only 4/10.

Link popularity of course refers to the amount of links that are around the web that point back to your site. I was told there are only 192 sites that link to yours, according to Google's database and they searched for float tube and it did not bring any top 10 results on Google search or Yahoo Search. Actually it is #16 on Google for that keyword.

First off I know a top 10 listing is every ones goal The major search engines drive over 85% of traffic to web sites, and only 7% of search engine users go past the first page of results, so properly optimizing a site for a top ten ranking on the search engines for your keyword phrase is essential to a business' online success.

Now the reason I bring this up first is to point out how easy it is to make a mistake. While I appreciate the effort put in by this firm, wasted as it was, they didnt do there job, free or otherwise. When you offer keyword analysis The first thing you should do is check the keywords meta tag on the assigned site to see what the site owner perceives to be important. You should also take at least a few minutes to look over the site and see what it offers the viewers and who the target audience is.

Had they done so it would have been obvious that the keyword phrase "float tube fishing" was the optimum target and they would have found top 10 ratings on both search sites. (#6 and #2 respectively) In fact the second key word phrase in the meta tags "floattube fishing" (one of the most common misspelled fishing term on the internet) also comes in as #2 on Google and #1 on Yahoo. This misspelling was a mistake made by a typo a few years ago but fortunately it is a spelling error made by 1000s of fishermen on a regular basis and our client has been able to capitalize on it.

The overall optimization of the entire FKP Fishing website for those two keyword phrases was the #1 goal of the project.

Secondly, while we try very hard to get a high PageRank by Google for our clients it is only part of the Net Performance Group "Equation of Success." Remember, Google is the only search engine that puts so high a value on page rank. Yahoo & MSN use page content. That is why we believe Content is King! Google may someday change its algorithms and drop page rank all together or lessen its impact on the equation but content will always be included in the formula.

Quality content can do more for a sites success than 10,000 Mickey Mouse links and a PageRank of 7/10. If a viewer does not stay on your site long enough to look at more than 2 or 3 pages either your navigation is bad or your content is not what it should be and your site is in trouble. Search engines may direct them to your site but your page layout and content will keep them there longer and bring them back!

Overall website optimization is what we call the Net Performance "Equation of Success". The four part equation is simple. Good website design + good title, discription and keyword meta tags + quality content + "old Fashion" hand search engine submission = more repeat visitors. Which in turn will bring the good link partners looking for you and ultimately result in a successful overall search engine ranking and your success.

In conclusion, while luck may have played a small part in the keyword placement for FKP Fishing.net search rankings, good overall optimization and quality content played the key roles in the success of the project.

Note: A year ago I corrected what I perceived as a mistake in FKPs keywords and got back on track with the correct spelling and have achieved good results. FKPFishing now has a Google PageRank of 6/10 and is in the top 5 of all major search engines results for its targeted keywords. Ironically the misspelled "word phrase" continues to bring a good 25% of that sites search traffic. To this day we continue to include the misspelling scattered in articles and always include it in the meta tags.
