Are You Still Using Time Consuming Reciprocal Links?

I am sure that you already know that links are what make
the internet function. Much of Google's success is based on
its ability to rank websites in the search engine results
by checking how many quality websites link to it.

Good search engine rankings are reason enough to spend a
lot of time acquiring reciprocal links. The way this works
is that you need to look for other websites which are
focused in a similar niche. You then craft an email to
politely ask for a link back to your website.

Based on my own tests this definitely does help to boost
your own search engine rankings. You do however need to be
careful of getting too many reciprocal links that are not
related to your niche. This will hurt your search engine
rankings. Also too many reciprocal links may also be bad
for your website. You need to balance this out with some
quality one way links.

Let us look at some of my statistics from generating links.
This is a really time consuming task. I was getting one
reciprocal link for every twenty to thirty emails that I
sent out. I think that the main reason for this is the
increase in spam.

I have changed my focus to article marketing primarily
because of this. It takes me thirty minutes to write one
article and when I submit it to the article directories I
get high quality one way links.

The articles are also viral in nature. As more webmasters
publish them over time I will increase my high quality
links. Since there is no additional work involved after
the article has been submitted to the article directories
I find this a better solution to getting one way links.
